Healing through Photography

This is an amazing and inspiring story, not just for the visually stunning images created by artist Kirsty Mitchell, but for the reason behind their inception and creation. Losing one’s parent is a tragedy, yet part of the cycle. Grief can express itself in so many ways, but rather then being yoked by negativity, Kristy channeled her emotions to add something beautiful to share with the world. No doubt, escapism can be dangerous. Retreat to far from reality and one can lose their perception of what is real and what is make-believe. Here though, it seems like this artist has found the edge of balance.
These photos speak to me. I want to be one of the subject of these images. To be dressed in beauty and nature and to shine with exoticism but also have hint of the familiar. I could stare at the images for hours. Someday…
